Westlake Village, CA
—The J.D. Power and Associates 2010 National Pharmacy Study revealed that independent community pharmacies rank highest in overall customer satisfaction, surpassing national retail pharmacy chains and mail-order pharmacies. According to Joseph H. Harmison, PD, president of the National Community Pharmacists Association, “Independent community pharmacies rely on a business model of answering questions and offering advice to ensure medication adherence is maximized.” Good Neighbor Pharmacy, Health Mart, and the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy networks scored highest on a 1,000-point scale, with Walgreens, CVS Caremark, Wal-Mart, and several mail-order pharmacies run by pharmacy benefit managers ranking lower.
