Avoid Taking Work Home

Once the workday is over, leave the work at work. Bringing it home to “catch up” will only have a negative impact on your personal life. The time you use to disconnect from work at home will serve to prepare you mentally and physically to tackle the next workday.

Take Advantage of Vacation Time

Do not delay that family vacation you were planning for the summer. Work will always be there. Instead, use your time off to relax and recharge for another stretch of hard work.

You Can Always Say “No” to Overtime

Do not feel obligated to work extra hours and longer days. If you have put in the time expected, you can always politely decline overtime. Sometimes, time away from work is worth more than the extra money you might earn working excess hours.
